Little League Takes Part in Africa Delegation  
Dan Velte, director of league development for Little League Baseball and Softball, recently traveled to Ghana as part of a goodwill delegation with designs on furthering the growth of baseball in Ghana and throughout West Africa. Check out the details here.


Little League Represented in Italy Meeting
Nick Caringi, director of operations for Little League Baseball and Softball, recently returned from a four-day visit to Tirrenia, Italy, where youth baseball and softball coaches participated in clinics organized through the Confederation of European Baseball. Read all about it here.

Congress is Next Month; Does Your DA Know Your Opinions? 
The 24th Little League International Congress will be held in April in Houston, Texas. District Administrators from around the world will be attending, with Little League International paying most of their travel expenses. Will YOUR district be represented? See the details here.

Little League Photo Contest Open to All Volunteers
Do you have a great photo of a Little Leaguer, or any other Little League activity? We want to see it! Enter the annual Little League Photo Contest now, and your work could be hanging in the hallowed halls of the Peter J. McGovern Little League Museum. Click here for all the details.

Breakaway Bases Mean Fewer Injuries
As it first was noted in the 2006 rulebooks, breakaway bases will become mandatory at all levels of play in 2008. Now is the best time to get the project completed. Check out the story here to see how easy the project can be.

Olympic Gold Medalist Michele Smith Conducts Little League Clinics
Little League is once again teaming up with USA Softball Olympic gold medalist Michele Smith for a series of coaching clinics sponsored by Musco Sports Lighting, the official sports lighting system of Little League. Five clinics are scheduled. You’ll find all the details here.

Iron-On Patches Now Available
You asked for it, you got it! Little League International now has iron-on patches available, eliminating the time-consuming and sometimes expensive need to sew the patches to the uniform sleeve of Little League uniforms. Click here to see how easy it is to order the patches.

Little League Electronic Rules CD Available
For the third year, Little League International is offering an electronic version of all rule books on the Little League E-Rules CD. Included on each CD are short videos explaining some of the thorniest rules of Little League Baseball and Softball. More information, including how to order E-Rules, can be found here.

Your League Can Host an MLB Pitch, Hit & Run Competition
Your local Little League is invited to take part in the annual Major League Baseball Pitch, Hit & Run competition, and winners could receive a trip to the MLB All-Star Game! Click here for all the details.

The Little League Internet Web Site is a great resource for anyone involved in Little League. But with thousands of pages of information, sometimes it’s hard to find just what you’re looking for. Now, there’s an alphabetical index! Check it out by visiting the Little League Web Site and clicking on “Find It Now!”

Purchasing Agents! Player Uniforms Now Available from Little League
Little League Official Uniforms, complete with patches, are being offered to local leagues in high quality, at great prices and with excellent delivery service through Little League International. Four uniform designs are available for baseball and Challenger divisions, with T-shirt and sleeveless jersey options for softball. Check it out here.

Little League Custom Banners Available On-Line
You can now order your Little League Custom Banners on-line. New for this year are custom vinyl banners, mini banners and garden flags. To order on-line go to the Little League Data Center and logon. You will need your League/District ID and Access Code to Logon. Allow 3-4 weeks for delivery of custom banners.

Is Your League Recognizing the Best Volunteers?
Once again, through the generous support of AIG, the Little League Awards Program will recognize national winners in several categories of volunteers, and one player. Remember, the deadline is June 1. All the information, including the entry forms and background materials, can be found here. 

Little League Road Show Coming to a Town Near You
The Little League Road Show, a training and education component of Little League Baseball and Softball, is gearing up for another year, teaming up with local volunteers to provide education and support to local leagues and districts through a series of clinics. Make you plans to attend one now. Check out the list of dates and sites here.

Little League World Challenger Jamboree This Spring
The second annual Little League World Challenger Jamboree promises to be even better when it gets under way in beautiful Norfolk, Va., this spring. More than 100 teams attended the event last year as this new event was inaugurated. Check out the details here.
